The Design Challenge was officially launched on Saturday 3 October. The Design Challenge is an initiative of Smit & Zoon (head office in Weesp, The Netherlands), in collaboration with Arsutoria School in Milan.This challenge is not limited to the Netherlands and Italy, as the participation of the five designers gives it international allure. We are very proud of the participation of Alexandros Vasdekis from Greece, Guglielmo Gorno stationed in Italy, Hommy Diaz a resident of the United States of America, Javier Abanil Mogollon from Spain and Laure Wolff living and working in France.
The live launch took place via a Zoom meeting.
Marc Smit, the owner and 7th generation Smit & Zoon, gave everyone a warm welcome and expressed his thanks to the team of Smit & Zoon and Arsutoria School. Without their involvement, enthusiasm, and drive there would have been no challenge.
The first assignment of this challenge was presented to the participating designers: designing a suitable name for the Design Challenge. The new name will be presented in mid-November and from that moment on the challenge will bear this new name. We are looking forward to the next steps in our Challenge
